무장애설계측면에서 분석한 공연장의 현황과 환경 개선에 관한 연구- 국내 뮤지컬 공연장을 중심으로

초록

With the conclusion of the COVID-19 pandemic, the performing arts industry is experiencing revitalization. Concurrently, advancements in medical technology are accelerating the transition into a super-aged society, leading to anincreased participation of elderly individuals in leisure activities. Given the growing demand for performances and cultural events,it is imperative to assess the accessibility of performance venues to ensure that they function as inclusive cultural spaces,accommodating individuals with diverse physical conditions. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the current accessibility ofperformance halls for individuals with disabilities and to propose strategies for enhancing their barrier-free environments. Toachieve this objective, a checklist was developed based on relevant laws and regulations concerning accessibility facilities fordisabled individuals. Using this checklist, the physical conditions of musical performance halls in Seoul were evaluated, and asurvey was conducted among house managers. The findings indicate that while accessibility facilities in performance halls aregenerally well-established, certain aspects remain insufficient. In particular, issues were identified regarding services that fail toadequately consider the placement of wheelchair-accessible seating and the diverse needs of individuals with different types ofdisabilities. To address these shortcomings, three key improvement measures are proposed. First, expanding wheelchairaccessibleseating to multiple locations within the venue can enhance accessibility and provide attendees with greater seatingoptions. Second, the provision of tailored auxiliary services according to the specific needs of individuals with disabilities isnecessary to ensure an optimal viewing experience. This requires the implementation of educational programs and supportservices within concert halls. Third, raising public awareness is crucial to ensuring that accessibility considerations extendbeyond mere compliance with legal standards and actively address the practical challenges faced by individuals with disabilities.
