This study investigates the impact of a free-replacement warranty on the age replacement policy for repairable products, integrating preventive and corrective maintenance, considering a degradation level. The research aims to develop expected cost rates for the age replacement policy in two scenarios: when preventive replacement occurs before and after a warranty expires. It identifies optimal replacement ages that minimize these cost rates in the presence of a degradation level and elucidates the influence of the warranty on the optimal replacement age. A numerical example illustrates the practicability of the proposed method using data. Moreover, the paper reviews existing literature on warranty and maintenance within this context and concludes with discussions on future research directions.
