(Background and Purpose) Post-pandemic, interest in healing has surged to combat the fundamental issues of loneliness, social isolation, and emotional disconnection. Modernization has driven a shift from collectivist to individualist cultures, leading to increased material satisfaction, but decreased psychological satisfaction and emotional exchange, resulting in emotional deprivation due to a lack of belonging. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to reexamine the role of the community as a collective entity and to present the foundation of a mental health service model based on the salutogenesis theory applied to recent health promotion practices and various community programs. (Method) This study explored the concept of the health continuum based on Antonovsky's salutogenesis theory in mental health, moving away from isolated, hospital centered clinical treatments toward the activation of social network resources integrated within everyday communal spaces. First, the concepts of salutogenesis and community services were examined through theoretical review. Second, community-based integrated service (CBIS) models were clustered based on their nature and purpose, categorizing them and understanding their characteristics. Third, the Sense of Coherence(SOC) within salutogenesis and community services were structured to lay the foundation for an analytical framework. Fourth, using the framework, Community-based integrated service (CBIS) models were analyzed from a salutogenesis perspective. (Results) The community services were categorized into four approaches. The Life-Function (LF) approach provides a transparent, accessible service environment, yet its role in systemic sustainability within the overall health continuum is often limited or weak. Interest-Intellect (II) approach prioritizes personal satisfaction, but a very strong consumerist nature with content-driven engagement. The Wellness-Ritual (WR) approach is effective in driving active engagement, but when practice stops, the associated benefits disappear. Finally, the Healing-Solidarity (HS) approach, while highly valuable and effective as a community service, has clear limitations due to low accessibility barriers in terms of physical, psychological, and cost. This study also identified that they were classified as either General Resistance Resources (GRRs) or Specific Resistance Resources (SRRs) within the broader mental health framework. (Conclusions) This study identified the characteristic of existing community services, aiming to provide a strategic foundation for wellness-oriented community service design to prevent, promote, and recover mental health in the face of mental health crises. Current community-based integrated service (CBIS) models are biased toward functional information, entertainment value, and physical activity. Therefore, this study suggests that a sustainable mental health service model should be established through further research on community service design that implements the value of salutogenesis, a fundamental healing, in everyday life.
