초록
The objective of this study was to perform a theoretical investigation to optimize thermoelectric modules for maximization of power output using a novel one-dimensional analytic model, in which the thermal conductance of heat exchangers as well as the thermal and electrical contact resistances inherent in the modules are taken into account. It was established that there exist an optimum thermoelement length and an optimum external load resistance that maximize the power output when the heat source temperature, heat sink temperature and the thermal conductance of the available hot and cold side heat exchangers are given. The effects of the heat exchangers’ thermal conductance and the heat source temperature on the attainable maximum power, efficiency, the optimum thermoelement length and external load resistance were determined.
