게르하르트 리히터 작품의 색채 표현에 나타나는 무위(無爲)적 특징에 관한 연구

초록

The purpose of this study is to establish the color characteristics of Richter's works from a new perspective by interpreting the colors in Gerhard Richter's paintings from the perspective of the WuWei(無爲) of Eastern philosophy. As a master of Western contemporary art, most of his works show open and dismantling characteristics, which is also a representative feature of postmodernism.This postmodernism is close to the concept of WuWei(無爲) in Eastern philosophy, and WuWei(無爲) is one of the concepts of Taoism and emphasizes dismantling, change and flexibility. In addition, neutral gray exists as a color that has an WuWei(無爲) character. The method of this study is to study literature centered on Eastern and Western philosophy and art theory books, and to analyze texts on Richter's interview articles and paintings. The subject of the study for color analysis is selected from among Richter's works that clearly show the WuWei(無爲) orientation that is Photo Painting of Blurring, abstract painting of pushing and a color chart series based on a random color arrangement. Through this study, it can be seen that Gerhard Richter's color expression, which represents the point of de-subjective, open, and ambiguous possibility, has a connection with WuWei(無爲) that has the characteristics of de-border and change. To understand the color expression in the work created by Gerhard Richter's life trajectory, substituting the Eastern philosophy of WuWei(無爲) is meaningful in that it presents a new conceptual framework for color analysis and broadens Richter's perspective on color.
