Analyzing the characteristics of periodic structures in leaky NRD guide using FDTD method

Recently, air-hole periodic structures have been suggested to suppress leaky waves in NRD guide [1]. However, characteristics of air-hole periodic structures in NRD guide have not been considered in detail. In this paper, the propagation characteristics of air-hole periodic structure in NRD guide are analyzed in detail using FDTD method. The results show that leakage in NRD guide waves decrease with thickness and number of air-hole, and increase with spacing of air-hole.
