중국인 학습자의 한국어 파찰음 지각 연구

A Study on the Perception of Korean Affricates by Chinese Learners.

초록

The objective of this study is to elucidate how Chinese Korean learners perceive and categorize Korean affricates. Two experiments were conducted with 10 elementary and 12 intermediate Korean learners, all of whom were native Mandarin speakers from northern China. In Experiment 1 (L2-L2 identification test), the results showed that both groups had higher accuracy in perceiving /ʨʰ/ compared to /ʨ/ and /ʨʼ/, but there was no significant difference in accuracy between /ʨ/ and /ʨʼ/. In Experiment 2 (L2-L1 labeling test with goodness rate), both groups tended to categorize Korean /ʨ/ and /ʨʰ/ as the Chinese aspirated affricates and Korean /ʨʼ/ as the unaspirated affricate. The study found that the difficulty in perceiving Korean affricates was due to overlapping perceptual categories in Chinese affricates. Although the perceived categories differed according to the trailing vowels, those differences did not significantly influence the learners' judgments of Korean affricates.
