초록

Adsorbents such as zeolite have been widely used for gas separation processes. However, because of the low sorption capacity of zeolite, it has limited use in treating CO2 in the flue gas emitted from coal-fired power plants. Therefore, many studies have focused on the development of more enhanced solid sorbents. In this work, we developed a zeolite impregnated with an amino group. TON (ZSM-22) zeolite was selected as a nominal zeolite, and different weight percentages of the amino group were impregnated onto the surface of TON. We used Monte Carlo simulation to predict the sorption capacity of the impregnated material. The results show that the amine group modification increased the sorption capacity in the low CO2 partial pressure region due to additional interaction between the attached amino group and diffusing CO2. In the high partial pressure region, pore blockage occurred, causing the available surface area and pore volume to decrease. These effects were also analyzed by adsorption selectivity calculation.
