초록

This paper presents a condition-based maintenance strategy tailored for a system subject to two interdependent failure mechanisms: degradation and sudden shocks. Degradation initiates at random intervals, following a non-homogeneous Poisson process. Upon surpassing a predetermined threshold, degradation is considered a failure, and warranty services are rendered for the affected products. Moreover, the system is prone to sudden shocks that follow a stochastic process. Consequently, the system's condition is evaluated during inspection intervals, enabling the provision of various maintenance actions. If the system is operational at the time of inspection and a degradation process exceeds a specific threshold, a preventive maintenance action is executed, involving the replacement of the system with a new one. Within this framework, we develop the expected cost rate function. A numerical example is provided to demonstrate the analytical results.
