초록

Deterioration of products is an inevitable process over time, as it affects the functionalities or qualities of the product. The management of perishable products requires an integrated information system for the synchronization of production, inventory, and distribution operations under inevitable product degradation. In this study, an integrated production inventory model for perishable products is proposed, which takes into account the effect of product degradation over time and the influence of preservation technology on the product's lifespan. To enhance the study's realism and practical applicability, the concept of a double warehouse system is integrated. Furthermore, the proposed study incorporates a production flexibility approach, enabling immediate adjustments to production levels based on actual sales and inventory data, thereby mitigating overstocking and minimizing product waste. The proposed method has been shown to extend the product's lifespan by 1.38 weeks through the use of preservation technology. Consequently, this results in a 22.32% profit increase, while production flexibility contributes a 12.48% profit enhancement. The study concludes that the proposed approach of information integration is essential for enabling the synchronization of various operational aspects of the production process, such as warehousing, sales, preservation, and production, leading to a decrease in the financial effect of product deterioration. © 2026 The Authors.
