초록

Education plays a key role in a nation’s competitiveness recently. China and Taiwan are no exception in that worldwide trend. Though the political ideology in China is different from that of in Taiwan, the school system in both country is similar to each other. It was forbidden by law to establish private school in China in past times, but Chinese government has encouraged positively the non-government person to establish a private school these days. On the contrary, Taiwan encouraged positively the establishment of private school in the early stage, but as the economy is vitalized and as the compulsory term of education is extended to nine years, the nation takes the responsibility of people’s education gradually. At the same time, Taiwan guarantee the private school’s autonomy. By comparing main issues on private secondary school and private secondary school governing in China and Taiwan through literature review and comparative method, the study explored the possibility of educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Taiwan and suggested some implications for Korean private school.
