회화 이미지를 활용한 선염 한지사 니트 소재 개발 및 산업적 활용에 관한 연구

초록

The modern fashion industry is increasingly emphasizing emotional design that balances functionality and aesthetics, alongside the development of sustainable and eco-friendly materials. This study aimed to create pre-dyed Hanji yarn for knit materials by incorporating pictorial images based on the unique characteristics of Hanji, a traditional Korean paper, and to assess its aesthetic and functional potential. The Digital Textile Printing (DTP) technique was utilized to integrate the researcher’s original paintings, pointillist motifs from Goguryeo tomb murals, and Mondrian’s geometric color compositions into the dyeing process. The dyed Hanji was transformed into yarn and hand-knitted, allowing for an analysis of differences in surface texture, color expression, and aesthetic quality compared to conventional monochromatic Hanji yarn. Notable variations in texture and color depth were observed based on the knitting tools and techniques employed, while the pictorial coloration enriched the visual dimensionality and expressiveness of the material. Additionally, two handbags and one sleeveless dress were created using the yarn-dyed Hanji, showcasing enhanced visual completeness and design diversity through gradient and color contrast effects. Tests for washing and rubbing fastness confirmed the durability and color stability appropriate for everyday use, demonstrating the material’s practicality and commercialization potential. This study proposes a new direction for developing sustainable fashion materials that fuse traditional Korean craftsmanship, digital printing technology, and artistic expression. It also emphasizes the industrial applicability of pre-dyed Hanji yarn as an eco-friendly knit material and lays the groundwork for future research into the development of high value-added textiles using Hanji-based materials.
