우리나라 소방공무원의 근골격계 문제 및 관련 국내 문헌의 고찰

초록

Objective: This paper is aimed to study the status of the musculoskeletal problems of Korean firefighters, and to review the related domestic literature. Background: In spite of the importance and contributions of the firefighters, few studies on their musculoskeletal problems have been made nationwide. Method: Recent data on the firefighters' compensation claims was provided from the National Fire Agency. The peer-reviewed articles from domestic academic journals published after year 2000 were searched using DBPia, KISS, RISS databases. The keywords used were 'firefighters', 'musculoskeletal', 'back pain', 'ergonomic' and their combinations. Results: Total 16 articles were analyzed. They could be classified into the surveys, observational studies and others. Conclusion: It could be known that musculoskeletal problems in firefighters are prevalent and serious. Additional studies are needed in various fields of ergonomics for the firefighters, especially in developing engineering and administrative controls. Application: The results could be helpful to stimulate further research on the health and safety of the firefighters.
