문화시설로 재활용된 도심산업유산의 특징에 관한 연구 - 중국 상하이의 산업유산을 중심으로 -

초록

City of Shanghai is currently concentrating on its Industrial heritage in the process of urban renewal and development as their economy structure has changed. This study examined the transformation of industrial heritage and its main characteristics of the reuse practice with the case study of six cultural facilities that are reused from industrial heritage of Shanghai. The four main values of the reuse were found that are value of history, symbol, preservation, and utilization. There are findings from this study that are the interrelation between the value of symbol and preservation, but also the utilization as the emphasized value in urban renewal processes. In conclusion, the reuse of the industrial heritage could be a sustainable solution for city renewal when the industrial heritage was recreated by the integration of new function and contents with enhanced historical value through the transformation. The challenge is to find an effective and responsible cooperation between city government and private organizations in the development process for the success of urban renewal by reuse of industrial heritage. The effort is needed to achieve goals for the public good by the return of city heritage with higher value through preservation and enhancement based on the in-depth analysis and comprehensive practice.
