국내 혼례공간의 건축적 기표의 변화

초록

Korean wedding ceremonial space changed from the ceremonial host's house to the commercial wedding hall, strongly influenced by Western culture while going through the industrial urbanization which had started since early 20th century. As both traditional and Western architectural signifiers have been mixedly used in the wedding hall space since '90s, people became confused in reading the ceremonial meanings behind them. Therefore, the meanings carried by the ceremonial procedure and the participants were examined to analyze the changing pattern of wedding ceremonial space. Consequently, it was found that the ceremonial space usage pattern and its imposed ceremonial meanings appearing different only during the early modernization period and going back to the earlier stage gradually as the modernization progress was made.
