내면의 심상 을 통한 이상적 공간 색채 표현 ( ) 心象 - 본인 작품을 중심으로

초록

I pursue painting practice under the theme of the ideal inner space envisioned through imagination. This study is a practice-based research with particular emphasis on color expression in the creative process. Landscapes and objects encountered in everyday life evoke emotional shifts within me and stimulate imagination. The motifs in my works are not represented through the surface color of objects as they are, but rather transformed into psychological color shaped by imagination. Accordingly, the aim of this study is to examine how color visualizes emotions and sentiments, and how it contributes to the formation of psychological space. First, the study interprets the notion of the ideal space from multiple perspectives by drawing on Zhuangzi’s concept of Xiaoyao You and Gaston Bachelard’s idea of the reclusive imagination. Furthermore, the fantastic use of color created by Marc Chagall and Henri Matisse is comparatively analyzed with my works in order to identify characteristics of color expression. In addition, to specify the thematic transitions and formal features of my works over time, analytical tools such as the Munsell color system, color scheme and the I.R.I. Image Scale are employed. In this context, color reflects and transforms in accordance with the flow of imagery, and in particular, non-naturalistic color emphasizes the sense of fantasy in relation to the ideal space. This study can thus be regarded as an attempt to explore the expressive potential of color within psychological and imaginative domains.
