4륜 독립 조향(4WIS) 시스템을 적용한 라스트마일 배달 목적의 로봇 모빌리티 플랫폼 디자인 제안

The explosive growth of e-commerce, driven by the increasing demand for advanced last-mile services, such as dawn and same-day delivery, necessitates the proliferation of Micro-Fulfillment Centers (MFCs) in South Korea. However, current delivery robots face critical inefficiencies. For instance, their pedestrian legal status imposes speed limits on arterial routes, significantly degrading logistics efficiency. Furthermore, the lack of high-volume loading capacity and flexible maneuverability required for multi-order parcel delivery in high-density urban areas. Hence, this study proposed an innovative autonomous mobility platform integrating a four-wheel independent steering (4WIS) system and platooning technology to resolve these structural issues. The proposal’s core novelty lies in its legal status switch strategy (pedestrian when single; vehicle when in platoon), which, using the air resistance reduction effect of platooning, enables energy-efficient high-speed operation. This MFC-optimized design provides a blueprint for efficient, unmanned last-mile delivery systems in complex environments.
