한미 기업의 글로벌 아웃소싱 업체 선정기준에 관한 실증연구: 팹리스 - 파운드리 반도체 산업의 사례

초록

In the semiconductor industry, fabless companies globally outsource their semiconductor fabrication to foundry companies. They are generally small-to-medium sized and focus on their core competencies, such as design and marketing, without their own fabrication facilities. Selecting foundries (suppliers) is an important strategic decision making in outsourcing and supply chain management. Although there is an abundant literature on the supplier selection criteria, research on the fabless-foundry industry is scarce. This paper aims to empirically study on the relative importance of the supplier selection criteria in the fabless-foundry industry and to analyze the results compared with those from other similar studies. It also compares the supplier selection criteria of Korean and U.S. fabless companies.
