초록

Hybrid metal halide perovskites have been widely investigated as optoelectronic materials, but their direct utilization as electrochemical energy-storage electrodes remains relatively unexplored. Herein, we demonstrate the fabrication of methylammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr(3)) lithium-ion battery electrodes through electrophoretic deposition (EPD) directly onto Cu foil current collectors. The EPD process enables the formation of a binder-minimized, current-collector-integrated MAPbBr(3) electrode without conventional slurry casting. Electrochemical measurements in Li half-cells show that the EPD-derived MAPbBr(3) electrode is active toward Li storage, delivering a high initial discharge capacity followed by substantial irreversible capacity loss during early cycling. Cyclic voltammetry and differential capacity analyses reveal cathodic features near 0.50 and 0.26-0.29 V and anodic features around 0.61-0.70 V vs. Li/Li+, which are attributed to coupled Li+ insertion, Pb-based conversion, and Li-Pb alloying/dealloying reactions. These results indicate that lithium storage in MAPbBr(3) proceeds through a multistep reaction pathway rather than simple intercalation. This work establishes EPD as a viable route for converting solution-processable halide perovskites into functional battery electrodes and provides a proof-of-concept platform for exploring perovskite-based materials in electrochemical energy storage.
